WHAT UNIQUE FEATURES DO YOU HAVE TO OFFER CHILDREN?
In addition to the play areas, our weekly story time and puppet shows are fun and free - just check our calendar for times and dates. We also
offer a variety of meals and treats especially for young ones (see our Menu Link). For beverages, fun herbal tea flavors like tutti fruity and
yummy berry are on our menu, as well as frappé freezes 4 kids  - blended drinks with flavors that include chocolate marshmallow, frosty bubble
gum, fruity rainbow and funky monkey. Don't forget the flavored steamers and hot chocolate with whipped cream!

WHAT OTHER AMENITIES DO YOU OFFER?
While in the café, children may enjoy munching on free Cheerios or color on our coloring pages as entertainment before heading into the play areas.
Children over the age of 5 years may borrow our electronic/board games or read books from our "for older kids" bookshelf, or color. Our rest
rooms have full-size changing tables (just ask us if you need a size 2 or 3 diaper), wet wipes and other essentials for your child, just in case you
forgot something.

WHY DON'T YOU SERVE PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY SANDWICHES?
Because so many children (and adults) have serious allergies to nuts, we have chosen to keep them off of our menu . By serving alternative, yummy
options, the little ones won't feel that they are missing out on the foods that they love.

WHY DO WE NEED TO WEAR SOCKS IN THE PLAY AREA?
Bacteria clings to the bottom of shoes and bare feet which could easily transfer to carpet. Children, especially under 2 years of age playing in the
play area are the most vulnerable to the germs we track onto the carpet - they play on the floor and put their hands in their mouths an average of
80 times an hour. So - children in, bacteria out!
Socks are available for purchase for $1.00 in case you forget yours.

WHAT OTHER RULES ARE STRICTLY ENFORCED IN THE PLAY AREA?
Besides both children and adults wearing socks in the play area, we ask that you monitor and supervise your child closely while they play with
others. Food and beverages must remain in the café area. If any child shows signs of illness, please understand that your child will not be allowed in
the play area.

WHY ARE YOU LIMITING THE USE OF THE PLAY AREAS TO CHILDREN 1-5 YEARS?
Caring for children with such wide range of age groups can be delightful, but it can also present some tough challenges in smaller play areas with
learning tools, activity tables and climbing steps intended for toddlers. It may simply become intimidating for younger toddlers to play and explore
with ease when they are around older grade-school children. At Café Sip-n-Play, we want to invite all families with their children. Children over the
age of 5 years may play board or electronic games, read books or color in our game area.

WHY CAN'T WE BRING IN OUR OWN FOOD?
Besides being a great place for children to play, Café Sip-n-Play is also a restaurant establishment that must adhere to Department of Health
regulations - our café has been approved to serve certain foods.  We also do not want to risk a child with a food allergy (such as nuts, which we do
not offer as an ingredient in any dish) picking up someone's peanut butter sandwich (for example).

CAN MY 8-YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WATCH MY TODDLER IN THE PLAY AREA?
One of our number one rules is that we limit the use of the play areas to children 1-5 years (see above). The café has been designed so that
families may keep a watchful eye on their toddlers while they are playing.  If we let older children in to watch their younger siblings, it wouldn't be
fair to all other older children who are sticking to the rules.
